Fishing Ponds

If you’re looking for a place to get some fishing in, you won’t be disappointed by the selection of ponds at Washington Township Park. Its two half-acre ponds are stocked by the DNR and are great for fishing.

This park is also home to several playgrounds, volleyball courts, a softball field and a picnic shelter. There’s also an indoor family center, an outdoor aquatic center and trails to walk or run around.

The ponds at this park are fully stocked by the DNR with catfish. You can even fish from the piers!

Dog Park

Located along the banks of Grenloch Lake in Ron Heck Memorial Park, Washington Township’s leashed dog park is a bucolic setting featuring rustic walking trails, a stoned covered parking area, a split-rail fence and large doggie pot waste containers outfitted with plastic disposal bags.

The park also features a pavilion that provides shade, and separate areas for small and large dogs. The park’s hiking trails also welcome leashed dogs as long as they are friendly with other hikers.

Another popular Indianapolis dog park is Fort Harrison, which offers a large fenced-in space for off-leash dogs and supplies water stations and waste stations.
